Two Step Films was founded by Producer/Director Fran Robertson in 1998 to make documentaries for television and radio. Since then it has developed a reputation for producing sensitive and thought-provoking films on a wide range of subjects which include the treatment of children with autism in ‘Autism: Challenging Behaviour’ (BBC4) and the law of joint enterprise in ‘Guilty by Association’ (BBC1) and Jailed Over a Group Chat (C4).

Who We Are
In 2021 Fran teamed up with Producer/ Director Jemma Gander.
Jemma’s 2020 film ‘How to Stay out of Jail’ for Channel 4 followed a pioneering police team who are working to rehabilitate offenders and received critical acclaim. In 2022 she directed ‘I am an Alcoholic: Inside Recovery’ (BBC2) - with exclusive access to Alcoholics Anonymous the film explores how people recover from Alcoholism in AA. For Two Step Films Jemma co-directed ‘Jailed Over a Group Chat’ for Channel 4 Untold.
Jemma and Fran are the co-directors of The Wrong Man: 17 Years Behind Bars (BBC2).
